This is a good article attacking those of us who consider BRICS an alternative to the decaying West. It points out its refusal of BRICS to take a unified anti-Zionist stance. It characterizes BRICS as a “motley assortment of states with different ideologies, different modes of governance, different economies, different levels of development, and different commitments to social justice.”
No doubt the author does not like Hindi and Saudi Fundamentalism that is part of BRICS. While the author affirms that nationalism is a good thing what he fails to recognize is that BRICS countries have a fundamental commitment other than developing the productive forces. This is something Marx himself approved of about capitalism when he wrote the Communist Manifesto. Is a People’s BRICS Summit necessary?
