From Local to Regional Mail: Disaster in the Making

There is an attempt to move the USPS from local to regional operations. The result is already a disaster in one city in the United States. If put into effect, mail would be delivered less frequently and require households to drive longer distances to pick up their missed mail.

The “regional optimization plan” would make it difficult to receive mail if you live in a rural area. The plan would also eliminate thousands of jobs. Among those thrown out of work would be women, who comprise 50% of the work force, Blacks and veterans, who compose 16% of its work force.
