Michael Roberts argues that roughly speaking, French politics can be divided into 3 sectors. These are the French right , the center right Neoliberals of Macron and the socialist left.
As a result of the recent elections to the European parliament, Macron’s party flopped. Going to the elections this weekend the French right has roughly 33% of the popular vote, the socialist left has 30% and Macron’s party is last. Whoever wins the election they are dealing with a country with a contracting economy and even steeper inequality. What is missing from the article is where the three tendencies stand in relation to international affairs.
