This is a nice description of the tools the declining Mordor empire uses to desperately keep the lid on mass perception of its declining fate. These include propaganda, censorship, state secrecy, algorithm manipulation, and the war on journalism. Without censorship Yankee propaganda would have to compete with a source it cannot control. Censorship is either keeping stories from reaching the level of news, or persecuting the story-tellers like Julian Assange (war on journalism). Once its propaganda is in place, it uses algorithm manipulation to keep its stories floating in the public eye, even if few people are reading them.
