What is the difference between consensus building and compromise?
Most people have never heard of consensus and somewhat mindlessly imagine that compromise is the best democratic process.

But long-term worker cooperative facilitator Laird Schaub argues that consensus should be the goal and other decision-making strategies should be used before considering compromise. Compromise prematurely dilutes what people really want and the solution may satisfy no one.
