More surface explanations for the War on Iran have to do with blaming Israel, whether it be Netanyahu or the Israel lobby. But it has been pointed out Israel would be deprived of its primary power if it did not serve the interests of the United States.
A major source of capitalist power has been imperialism, but this has been in decline for over 100 years. The resistance of Cuba is an example. The problem is also that capitalism in the West has become financial. It cannot compete with the multipolar world which harnesses energy and builds infrastructure so the United States seeks to destroy these multipolar forces such as Iran.
