The rulers of capitalist states like to tell their populations that everything is under control. We have parties with platforms and what happens in the future is simply a matter of carrying out their plans.
But in practice, whether it is the economy or in international politics, rulers resemble blind Hobbesian monads who over and over again are faced with messes of their own creation. They are all highly incompetent.
