Can The Anti-Leninist Left be Co-opted by CIA? It’s Happened Before!
Some of you may know that after World War II the Congress for Cultural Freedom organized itself as an intellectual movement against totalitarianism. Among its recruits were anti-Stalinists – Trotskyists – and others who wanted to expose the lack of real socialism in the Soviet Union. What most of these folks didn’t know was that the CCF was funded by the CIA. A very cheap version of the same thing is happening now in the “resistance” movement in the US which brings together Noam Chomsky, Hillary Clinton and Socialist Alternative under one big tent.
