If we only paid attention to western media, we would think that Covid is just a western problem. But in West Asia, the Covid impact is far worse and more complex because they are tied up with imperialist interventions and politicking about who can and can’t get the vaccine. Many children do not go to school at all. In Syria and Yemen, half the population goes hungry as food prices have risen in some places up to 400%. Iran has the most cases of Covid as US sanctions make things even worse for them.
