Why IMF Plans for the Future Won’t Work: Old Wine in Old Bottles

Marxian political economist, Michael Roberts points out many of the reasons why IMF plans for climate change and global warming won’t work. In the first place, the projection ignores both the coronavirus crisis and the financial crisis that capitalism is now in. It has no plan as to how either will end. Secondly, in projecting world economic growth rates it projects no financial crisis for the next 30 years when we’ve had two in the last 12 years.  Third, it expects to get out of the global warming rut while not touching the capitalists in the fossil fuel energy industry.
