Three Militant African Nations Dump International Criminal Court

Recently Mali, Niger and Burkina Faso jointly announced their withdrawal from the International Criminal Court (ICC). Why? To begin with the overwhelming majority of cases it investigates are from the global south.

Conversely many clear Western abuses – from the bombing of Libya to the murder of Gaddafi to the tortuous abuses of Abu Ghraib – are not seriously investigated or dropped out completely when put under pressure by the West. These militant African states say they want no part of an institution it had no say in designing.
