This is a powerful article because it shows the commonalities of war propaganda both cross-cuturally and historically. Here are some: 1) We don’t want war but our enemies do; 2) our enemy is inherently evil; 3) we are defending a noble cause rather than our own self-interests; 4) the enemy commits atrocities – our killings are mistakes; 5) the enemy uses forbidden weapons – unlike us; 6) our casualties are small, theirs are large; and 7) people in the arts are on our side.
