Did you know when you fly on American Airlines that all the emotional work of greeting, seating, sorting out problems and assistance with your baggage by flight attendants is unpaid labor? That was the case until just recently but not any more.
A union of 26,000 flight attendants was so well organized that the mere threat of a strike frightened the Powers that Be to agree to an immediate wage increase of 20% for their emotional work plus retro pay.
