Russian Technological Assistance in Africa Making a Comeback

In the era of the Soviet Union, Africa depended on Russia for support in technological upgrades as well as ideological support for their national liberation movements. When the Soviet Union collapsed into disaster capitalism, Russia did not keep its promises to African states about technological projects. But this technological assistance has returned since Putin has been in office. In the last year trade has increased to six billion dollars.
