Protests and Mass Strikes Deepen Crisis For Macron

The French population seems to well understand that protests alone will not move the French state to withdraw cuts to pensions. The day after the protests and moving forward there are ongoing strikes in refineries, energy facilities and mass transit systems that are crippling the French economy. These strikes are being joined by meatpackers and garbage collectors. All this is happening DESPITE the union leadership. They are happier talking to Macron than to the rank-and-file.
