AFSCME offered the workers a 9% pay increase to be given OVER THREE YEARS. This is one percent more than the mayor offered the strikers before they went on strike. The union halted the strike after 8 days just as it was gaining momentum and they ended it cowardly, in the middle of the night.
Many workers have not accepted this and want to continue the strike. it is clear that the AFSCME can be no more trusted than the Democratic Party. The head of the union is on the Democratic National Committee. These leaders’ loyalty lies with the degenerate Democratic Party, not with the workers. So the workers formed their own Philadelphia Workers Rank-and-File Strike Committee and continued the strike.
