Not So Fast! Capitalist Rate of Profit in Decline Long Before COVID-19

It is easy and romantic to imagine that the capitalist economy before COVID-19, if not good, was at least bumbling along. But from Michael Roberts’ long-run point of view, the US rate of profit has been in decline since after World War II. This is based on the tendency of the rate of profit to fall.
