Who won the election? The 38% of eligible voters who DIDN’T VOTE – and they won by a landslide! Trump got 28% and Harris 27% of the vote. The Greens got 1.5%. Trump’s numbers were about the same as they were in 2020 but the Democrats’ vote was 10-12 million less than in 2020.
The working class cannot be blamed for Trump’s victory. Most people didn’t vote at all or voted for Harris. Michael concludes “Harris lost the election heavily because the Democrats campaigned on the identity issues that concerned voters much less, while Trump campaigned on what mattered most to Americans in 2024: inflation, the cost of living and what is perceived as uncontrolled immigration.”
