Michael Roberts tells us that the Alliance of Social Science Association (ASA) is the biggest economics conference in the world. This year’s event was attended by 13,000 economists and their students.
Hundreds of papers were presented over a period of 3 days. The major focus of this year’s conference was artificial intelligence (AI). Since most of these economics are mainstream, they are committed to capitalism. Given the sad shape of capitalism, these economists imagine that Al will save capitalism. They don’t understand how badly mistaken they are.
