Pepe Escobar doesn’t think so. He thinks that the failure of BRICS to clearly support Iran was the kicker for him.
In addition, we have India making deals with Mordor and not being reliable. We have Brazil that vetoed Venezuela getting in. There are still organizations within BRICS that are valuable like the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. The BRICS alternative to the dollar is very real. The good news is there is now a new core which is much more militant that includes Iran, Russia, China and perhaps North Korea.
