There was a time when the German working class was the strongest in Europe, with collective bargaining and co-determination as a given. But in the past 10 years the German economy has slipped and collective bargaining, as well as co-participation in economic decisions has fallen on hard times.
The disastrous rule of the SPD and the Greens has been so anti-socialist that workers are voting for the right nationalist party. With high inflation and a policy of deindustrialization it isn’t hard to imagine the lives of German workers won’t get even worse. We think the only ways things might change for the better is for German workers to demand the state buy cheap natural gas from Russia.
