SUMMARY:Occupy Oakland General Assembly
DESCRIPTION:Until the end of February (22nd) 2015 GA will meet at the Omni
Collective basement\, mostly at its regular time\, 4PM Sunday.\n\nThe Occu
py Oakland General Assembly generally meets Sundays\, at 4 PM at Oscar Gra
nt Plazaamphitheater at 14th Street &amp\; Broadway\, often on the steps o
f City Hall. “If it is raining (as in RAINING\, not just misting) at 4:0
0 PM we meet in the basement of the Omni Commons\, 4799 Shattuck Ave\, Oak
land  Directions\n\nWe have met on a continuous basis for more than three
years! Our General Assembly is a participatory gathering of Oakland commu
nity members and beyond\, where everyone who shows up is treated equally.
Our Assembly and the process we have collectively cultivated strives to re
ach agreement while building community.\n\nThe bulk of the work of Occupy
Oakland does NOT happen in the General Assembly. It happens in various com
mittees\, caucuses\, and loosely associated groups whose representatives v
oluntarily come to the GA and report on past and future actions. We encour
age everyone participating in the Occupy Oakland GA to be part of at least
one associated group\, but it is by no means a requirement.  If you like
\, just come and hear all the organizing being done! Occupy Oakland encour
ages political activity that is decentralized and welcomes diverse voices
 and actions into the movement.\n\nhttps://occupyoakland.org/ai1ec_event/oc
