Our book club meets every two weeks and every third meeting we have a forum to talk about issues around the economic crisis that are not directly related to the book we’re reading. The forum is open to all interested people who do not want to commit to regular book club meetings.
The topics of today’s forum are:
Propoganda:
o 4 types of information control
o How propaganda might be connected to capitalism
o 5 controversies within propaganda theory
o To group – how do you think propaganda helps and/or hinders capitalism
Geopolitical Alliances and the Criteria Used to Form Those Alliances:
- Financial – fictitious resources
- Military
- Economic (real vs fictitious resources – World Systems Theory)
- Energy sources – water, oil, coal, natural gas
