Capitalist Stock Markets Will Be Tested in Week Two

Why was the stock-market in the West rocked by war and the closing of the Strait of Hormuz? Nick Beams claims it could be because stock market traders stupidly thought Iran was going be quickly defeated.

Now we know a short war ending in a victory of the west is ludicrous. Last Friday the Korean markets lost 12% in stocks, the largest drop since the 2008 crash. The price of oil rose to $95 a barrel. Oil barons in the Mideast are cutting back on oil production. Finance capitalists say the Strait of Hormuz needs to be “cleared”.  Fat chance.
