Usually when we think of co-ops we think of different types of service sector work. When we think of industrial co-ops we might think of a single industry such as construction. But railroads?
Perhaps instead of capitalist states, should a socialist state run them? GO-OP rail is a new type of Open Access operation that may just provide an alternative. It’s local, very community based and with a co-operative ownership model that means it is there to serve passengers and workers. It’s all very laudable but it is it credible?
