As many of you know BRICS had its two-day meeting a couple of weeks ago. It was less planned than last year but a lot was accomplished. For one thing, there was talk about a BRICS currency based on petrodollars in all the non-western oil-producing countries.
This BRICS configuration is economic – to build infrastructures and harness energy – rather than to make war and build financial capital. The Latin American division is weak, with just Brazil and Mexico as members, but the global south is enthusiastically being welcomed into joining BRICS.
