The general strike in France has reached its 40th day. This, on top of a year’s worth of swarming Yellow Jackets. This article shows the breadth across social sectors involved and the depth of its aspirations. It is important to note that these strikes are not controlled by any political party, even the socialists ones in France. So too, the unions, rather than leading the strike, are bringing up the rear. This is not to say we are against political parties or unions. It is only to say what exists now is part of the problem, not a solution.
