Political Economist Michael Hudson Writes: It’s Capitalism – Not Socialism – That Has Failed
According to Michael Hudson, what has failed in the 20th century is not Marxism, but Stalinism. He argues that the failure of Stalinism has allowed Marxism to be decoupled from its association with Russia. While interest in Marx’s ideas are on the rise, thanks to the financialism of capitalism, it is capitalism that is failing everywhere. Financialism embraces the view that the only purpose of business is to create shareholder value, measured primarily by short-term results. Western Boogeyman Remembered: Qaddafi’s Achievements and Pan-African Hopes
Twenty five or thirty years ago suppose we asked you which country in the world has no foreign debt? This country deposited its profits from oil into the bank accounts of its citizens. This same country had free, good quality healthcare, free education, rent free housing and free electricity. Sweden? Norway? Denmark? The answer is…Libya. Not only did Muammar Qaddafi promote these things, but he strove for a United States of Africa and wanted to get Africa away from using the dollar. Legitimacy of Elites Continues Free-Fall: Most Americans Claim Morality Not Linked to Religion
As we remember it, the United States is the most religious country of all the industrial capitalist countries. But this is becoming less so. China’s Trojan Horse – Real Estate Bubble
While the Chinese capitalists are out-maneuvering western capitalists by investing in the infrastructures of other countries, they are also investing in finance capital – real estate – which could lead to their undoing. Why Petrodollars Exploit Countries Outside The West
There are approximately eight countries in the world with currencies that are convertible to the dollar – all in the West. Those countries with other currencies have to pay for their conversion into dollars. This provides a nice profit for the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund, both of which are controlled by the US. But now, the yuan is suddenly the third largest currency in the world. If China is the world’s largest and strongest economy, will the yuan replace the dollar? Not without bloodshed, we predict.Read at teleSURImage from The Falling Darkness

Are You Willing to Walk a Mile in My Shoes? – The Impact of US Imperialism On An Ordinary Iraqi
Traumatic experiences are hard to remember for a reason
The human mind has an excellent device of self-protection. It can forget. It puts away in the farthest recesses the events and emotions that cause distress. Therefore I had to make an effort to look back and try to write about my experience and the experience of my family throughout the difficult years of the Saddam Hussein regime, the 1st Gulf War, the years of embargo, the no-fly zones, etc.
